Berhasil menjadi Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA) 2023 Awardee dan akan studi satu semester di Western University, Canada dengan biaya penuh dari pemerintah Indonesia.

I am Nicholas Christian Irawan, writing to share my experience with IISMA, from selecting my preferred university, registering for admission, going through the selection process, and ultimately being accepted.

When I started my college search, I knew I wanted to attend a university that would provide me with the best possible education and personal development opportunities. After extensive research, I ultimately chose Western University for its great course selection, amazing location, and welcoming community.

The registration process was straightforward, and I found the admissions team extremely helpful and responsive. They provided me with all the necessary information and support to ensure a smooth application process. I felt confident that I had made the right choice with participating in the scholarship program.

Next, I had to go through the selection process, which was a challenging and rigorous experience having to write multiple great essays as well as prepping for the interview. It was truly a struggle juggling multiple responsibilities from organizations and university as well as putting my best effort into the selection process.

Finally, after the rigorous selection process, it was time to wait for the result. I and my friends decided to gather at my home to reveal our results together. When the time for the result came around and it was time for us to see it, I was overjoyed and grateful to find that I got awarded the scholarship.

In conclusion, I am thrilled with my decision to attend Western University. I am grateful for the support and guidance I received throughout the entire process. I look forward to continuing my education and maximizing this university and scholarship program’s opportunities.

Preparing for the IISMA application process was an exciting and nerve-wracking experience for me. After careful research and consideration, I decided to apply to the University of Western Ontario. The university’s excellent reputation and cutting-edge research in the field of science were too good to pass up. I also appreciated the diverse student body and the chance to work with some of the best professors in the country.

The registration process was straightforward, and I was able to submit all the necessary documents without any issues. I made sure to double-check everything to avoid any mistakes or delays. The selection process was rigorous, and I knew that I was up against some of the brightest students in Indonesia. I worked hard on my application, highlighting my achievements and skills, and was pleased to receive an interview invitation.

The interview was nerve-wracking, but I did my best to showcase my knowledge and passion for science. The interviewers were friendly and professional, and I felt confident that I had made a good impression.

After waiting anxiously for a few weeks, I finally received the news I had been hoping for – I had been accepted into Western! I was overjoyed and grateful for the opportunity to study at such a prestigious institution.

IISMA 2023 - Rama

I Gede Nengah Rama Adi Nugraha – Nanyang Technological University, Singapore

Alumni SMAN 1 Tabanan – Bali, Mahasiswa Informatika UC – Class of 2021.

Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA) 2023 Awardee yang akan studi 1 semester di Nanyang Technological University – Singapore dengan beasiswa penuh.

My name is Gede Nengah Rama Adi Nugraha, but you can call me Rama. I am honored to have been nominated for the Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA) 2023. This journey began without special preparation, as I practiced the Duolingo English test a few times. When it was finally time to take the test, I was pleasantly surprised to receive a score of 150.

I had the opportunity to choose between two prestigious institutions, Keio University in Japan and Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore. I chose both of those universities because I was drawn to the unique blend of culture, the efficient public transportation system, and the pedestrian-friendly environment that the city offered.

Before applying for the IISMA, I had to complete a few important tasks, such as obtaining a passport, which I did not have at the time. Making a new passport took work, especially as I had to prepare it very close to the deadline. I was nervous that I might not get the passport in time, but everything worked out in the end. Additionally, I was required to draft four essays as part of my application. My academic teacher, Bu Theresia, provided invaluable assistance and guidance throughout this process, ensuring that my essays were well-written and effectively conveyed my thoughts.

After successfully passing the preliminary document and essay selection stage, I was invited for an interview. My performance during the interview was not particularly strong, as my communication skills were not the most polished. However, I remained confident that I had done my best. When I received the news that I had been accepted to NTU, I was overjoyed and felt immense gratitude, knowing that all my hard work had finally paid off.

For those considering taking the Duolingo test, I suggest you immerse yourself in English by reading and writing a lot. While my communication skills could have been better, immersing myself in English certainly helped me achieve a good score on the test. I am thrilled to have been accepted into NTU Singapore and cannot wait to study abroad for one semester, immersing myself in their rich culture and incredible educational opportunities. I am eternally grateful for this opportunity and look forward to sharing my experiences with others as I continue on this exciting path.

IISMA 2023 - Michelle

Michelle Alvera Lolang – The University of Adelaide, Australia

Alumni SMA Nation Star Academy, Mahasiswa Informatika UC – Class of 2021.

Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA) 2023 Awardee to study at The University of Adelaide, Australia

Since high school, I have dreamt of pursuing higher education abroad, but I did not make it. So, I am genuinely grateful for being one of the IISMA 2023 awardees. Although I was not accepted into my first choice, Keio University in Japan, I am still excited to be a part of the Adelaidians at the University of Adelaide in Australia. Both universities caught my interest due to their orchestra clubs and rankings in the top 200 of QS World University Rankings 2023.

Preparing for the English Proficiency Test was challenging. After two weeks of preparation, I took the IELTS test and achieved a score of 7.5 on my first attempt. Other than EPT, obtaining the SKCK (Certificate of Good Conduct) was challenging as well. I attempted to obtain it the day after Nyepi, only to find that Polres was closed. However, I persisted, returned the following day, and followed all the procedures.

The IISMA Series, hosted by UC’s International Office, was incredibly helpful in guiding me through the application process. Thanks to the tips and tricks provided, I could organize my essay effectively and prepare thoroughly for the interview. I sincerely thank my family, friends, and teachers for fully supporting me and encouraging all the IISMA applicants this year..

IISMA 2023 - Vincent

Vincent Farellio Gunawan – University College Cork – National University of Ireland, Ireland

Alumni SMAK St. Louis 1 Surabaya, Mahasiswa Informatika UC – Class of 2021

Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA) 2023 Awardee for University College Cork – National University of Ireland, Ireland

I had been eagerly anticipating the opportunity to apply for the IISMA scholarship, which I knew could be a life-changing experience for university students like myself, allowing us to broaden our perspectives and explore the international world. However, I was initially unprepared when the registration opened, and I had a short time frame to take the required English proficiency test and prepare for the selection process. Despite the challenge, I was highly motivated and began researching universities that interested me.

After careful consideration, I found myself drawn to studying in Scotland and Ireland, as these developed countries still hold strong cultural values. I decided to apply to The University of Edinburgh and University College Cork, both renowned institutions with excellent reputations and global recognition. With only two weeks to prepare, I dedicated myself to studying for the IELTS and was relieved to achieve a good result that fulfilled the acceptance requirements.

The next step was the most challenging yet crucial part of the selection process: writing the essay. I poured my heart and soul into the essay, giving it my best and being honest about my aspirations, emphasizing my skills and how I envisioned growing and contributing to the IISMA program.

After submitting my essay, comes the interview selection. The interview was a thrilling process, and I felt satisfied with it, knowing that I had expressed my genuine thoughts and motivations. Then came the waiting period, which was filled with anticipation and anxiety. But when the day finally arrived, all my hard work paid off as I was accepted to University of College Cork in Ireland.

I am truly grateful for this opportunity and hopeful that my experience at University College Cork will help me grow to my fullest potential and enable me to contribute positively to society. I am determined to make the most of this opportunity and strive to excel in my studies while making a meaningful impact in my community.
