At Zoomtopia 2020, Zoom introduced a new feature called Immersive View, a feature that hosts can use to adjust the appearance of videos of online meeting participants in a more attractive appearance in a scene based on a certain theme. Gone is the rigidity of the appearance of a collection of boring boxes. This feature is also available on the Microsoft Teams platform, a popular video-based online meeting platform, since a while ago.
This interesting feature of Zoom can now be enjoyed by both free and paid users, especially for users of the Desktop version of Zoom with Windows and MacOSX operating systems. The requirements to use this feature is that you have to update the software to its latest version, at least version 5.6.3. Another condition is to set Immersive View to enabled, you can find the setting on the advanced settings options. Meeting participants who use devices that are not supported by this feature will see the participants with the background as usual.
One of the features that have not been available on Zoom so far but that would really help the host is the feature to take all screenshots. Hopefully this feature will be provided by Zoom soon. However, with the Immersive View feature, at least the screenshots will be more interesting than before.
Immersive View options provided by Zoom
Zoom provides a variety of scenes to choose from, but the host can develop their own scene according to their needs. By using the Manually option, the host will be able to use the photo they have as a background and then be able to adjust the placement of each participant in the desired position, according to the image used.
The limit of this feature is that the number of video conference participants is a maximum of 25 participants. In addition, this feature cannot be utilized in the Breakout Room. This feature is also not available in the form of recording, where the results of the recording will appear in the Gallery or Speaker display.
So, what are you waiting for? update your Zoom now, and use the new and fun Immersive View feature!
